In Advance of a Tilt

Ah, the steam. If a poker enthusiast states at no time to have looked over the shadow of an approaching poker steam – they are either lying or they have not been betting for a long time. It’s an unavoidable outcome of competing in Hold’em, or for that matter any type of poker.

Seeing as we are assumingly (almost all of us) playing poker for a single reason – to make cash, it will make sense that we would play accordingly to maximize winnings. Now let’s say you are up $100 off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you take a gigantic hit in a No Limits game and your bankroll is only has remaining $120. You’ve squandered eighty dollars in a hand where you should have picked up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and enjoyed a ten to one advantage. And that guy! He bled you dry on the river? – Well hold it right here. This is a classic opportunity for a new bettor to start tilting. They just burned too much cash on one hand that they should have won and they’re agitated
