Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve closing game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While playing internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He often participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to settle at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be one of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world could be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in money games?
