NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the negative feedback from other people destroy his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.
He started competing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
