No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender in the world by many of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t let the negative feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed a number of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to hard work and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and always aspires to get better.
Even though Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
