NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he could about poker. He would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse comments from others annihilate his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
He started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing passion for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Even though Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
